Problem
As part of a new grain-terminal development, the client required a high-throughput pass-through loading system for trucks carrying two 20 ft containers on a 40 ft trailer.
Conventional solutions required reversing, creating safety hazards, time loss, and congestion. With tight engineering and Engineering Procurement Construction deadlines, a reliable, drive-through design was critical to the project’s success.
Solution
A-Ward delivered four custom Universal Open Loaders configured as a pass-through system to handle dual 20 ft containers efficiently. Each loader’s side-folding frame opens outward as the truck approaches, allowing safe entry and precise container positioning.
Once the containers are in place, the frames close hydraulically to secure them for tilting and loading. This design eliminates reversing, enables simultaneous dual-container loading, and maintains a one-direction workflow — significantly increasing daily throughput and on-site safety.
